On October 20th 2018, the Laboratorium in Bergara was officially declared an Historic Site of the European Physical Society.
The ceremony declaring the Residencia de Estudiantes as an EPS Historic Site took place on 13 May 2015. It was presided over by EPS President Dr Christophe Rossel, Prof. J. Adolfo de Azcárraga, President of the Spanish Physical Society [RSEF], Prof. Emilio Lora-Tamayo, President of the Spanish National Research Council [CSIC] and Alicia Gómez-Navarro, Director of the Residencia de Estudiantes.

The EPS’s Caterina Biscari has been featured in the Spanish daily newspaper El País. Biscari, a member of the EPS Executive Committee, was interviewed at the 2011 International Particle Accelerator Conference as part of the paper’s “Breakfast with…” column – where she discussed the role of women in science.

The second International Particle Accelerator Conference (IPAC 2011) will take place in the Kursaal Congress Centre in San Sebastian, Spain, between the 4-9 September this year. The programme will consist of a variety of oral presentations, poster sessions and plenary sessions.
