In early May, the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) had the privilege to host the 7th EPS Young Minds Leadership Meeting. Members of the YM Action Committee met approximately 50 delegates from all over Europe, who presented their sections’ activities covering outreach, professional development and networking events. The Leadership Meeting was organized by the Prague EPS Young Minds section, founded in 2015, and a member of the Czech Physical Society (CPS) and the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists (UCMP). CTU Prague and the BNL-CZ framework also provided support to the meeting.
For two weeks at the start of April, the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste was home to 6 enthusiastic and dedicated young women scholars from Palestine and Morocco. Four of them are senior undergraduates from Bethlehem University in Palestine, 2 are currently graduate students from Beni Mellal University in Morocco, and all are members of their respective EPS Young Minds sections.
The 2018 joint meeting of the German Physical Society (DPG) and the European Physical Society (EPS) Condensed Matter Divisions took place in Berlin from 11th to 16th of March 2018.
The 16th EPS Young Minds Action Committee meeting took place at CERN, close to Geneva (Switzerland) on 10th of November 2017.

Young Minds (YM) is an excellent opportunity for physics students to develop skills and contacts that will be useful in their careers. Public engagement through the activities in the YM sections demonstrates the importance of dialog, for the public to appreciate the work done by researchers, and for researchers to share their passion for science. Each YM section is managed by volunteers, planning activities, balancing budgets, organising events… This experience will make Young Minds members more effective leaders. With sections and members all over Europe, YM provides a network of motivated young physicists to share ideas, and best practice.
On 2012 in Messina, a city located in the north-east of Sicily, a little group of Physics Master and PhD students joined the Young Mind Project starting a chapter with the aim of fostering scientific discussions and the spread of knowledge.
During the first week of April 2017, the associations MCDA, Migrations Co-developpement Alsace (1) and Liter of light France (2), in close cooperation with the new EPS Young Minds Beni-Mellal section, replaced Kerosene lamps by solar lamp kits in families using this fossil energy lighting.
