EPS Physics Education Division Award for Secondary School Teaching 2017 goes to Dr Jozef Beňuška

The Award for Secondary School Teaching is granted every two years to a high school teacher for a specific contribution to teaching, in particular one that might be applicable in a variety of countries. “Teaching” is interpreted broadly and can include activities that encourage students to study physics or improve their access to physics. Nominations are made by the National Physical Societies.

Hetland to receive EPS-PED Award for Secondary School Teaching

The Physics Education Division selected Karl Thorstein Hetland, West Telemark Secondary School, Norway, as this year’s recipient of its Secondary School Teaching Award. K.T. Hetland developed the Energy Network, which aims to make students energy conscious and focus on renewable energy.

Nominations are open for the 2012 EPS-PED Secondary School Teaching Award for contributions by a secondary school teacher to physics education. The award consists of a diploma and Euro 1000 cash prize.

The award is made to an individual secondary school teacher for work that directly affects students in physics in one or more European secondary schools. The award should recognize a specific contribution to teaching, particularly one that might be taken up in a range of countries…
