On 15th of November 2017 a plaque declaring the Magurele Physics Campus as an EPS historic site was unveiled by the EPS President, Rüdiger Voss. The EPS Secretary General, David Lee, participated in the ceremony, together with representatives of local authorities, the Romanian Ministry of Research, the Romanian Academy, and the Research Institutes from Magurele.
The IONS Balvanyos 2017 Conference will take place from 25-28 July 2017 in Balvanyos, Romania.
On February 19th, 2015 Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania, paid a visit to the ELI-NP (Extreme Light Infrastructure – Nuclear Physics) Research Center under construction in Bucharest-Magurele, on the premises of the “HoriaHulubei” National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering. ELI-NP will create a new European laboratory to consistently investigate a very broad range of science domains, from new fields of fundamental physics, new nuclear physics and astrophysics topics to applications in material science, life sciences and nuclear materials management.

The second European Nuclear Physics Conference [EuNPC2012] is being held on 17-21 September, 2012, at the Rin Grand Hotel in Bucharest, Romania.
The conference program – covering recent advances in hadron and nuclear physics – will consist of oral and poster sessions in the following fields: accelerators and instrumentation, astroparticle physics, hadron structure and spectroscopy, heavy ion collisions and QCD phases, few body systems, fundamental symmetries…
The next summit of the Ministers of Higher Education of the ‘Bologna’ or European Higher Education Area [EHEA] countries will take place on 26-27 April this year, in the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania.
Last year, the European Commission announced a substantial increase – 68 per cent – of investment in education for the next Framework 2014/20 budget. It is of prime importance, therefore, to determine the role of European institutions in the consolidation and progress of the Bologna Process, especially given that the EHEA summits will only be held…
