Photonics4All is a European outreach project funded by the European Union under one of the calls for Photonics Public Private Partnership (PPP). This outreach project aims to promote photonics and light based technologies to young people, students, entrepreneurs and the general public throughout the EU.
NANOMETA 2017, The 6th International Topical Meeting on Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, will take place from 4 to 7 January 2017 in Seefeld (Tirol), Austria.
The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015 [IYL 2015] has been a tremendous success in bringing together academic and industry organisations around the world to join forces to raise awareness of the many ways in which the physics and applications of light impacts our lives in areas such as energy, education, climate-change and health. The success of IYL 2015 crowns six years of hard work by the European Physical Society [EPS] since the first discussions of the idea in 2009.
The Photon16 conference, organised by the Institute of Physics, will be held at the University of Leeds, 5 – 8 September 2016.
Over four days, Photon16 participants will have the opportunity to visit exhibitions on the latest in optics and photonics technology, attend lectures from experts in the field, and get up to date with cutting-edge research.
Scientists have devised a novel approach to 3D nanofabrication that brings closer the day when electronic and photonic devices become truly three-dimensional.
The LIGHT2015 project – coordinated by the European Physical Society – is pleased to announce the LIGHT2015 Award winners. The Young Women in Photonics Award was created to recognise young female scientists who have made outstanding contributions to photonics. The 2015 award in the Fundamental category goes to Na Liu (Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems) and to Nathalie Vermeulen (Photonics Team (B-PHOT), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)) in the Applied/Engineering …
The United Nations [UN] General Assembly proclaimed 2015 as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies [IYL 2015]. To celebrate the event, Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics [WNLO], with the support from many world known scientific societies and unions [1] launches Wuhan Photonics Week.
The International Conference CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2015, Europe’s premier joint conference on Lasers, Electro-optics and Fundamental Quantum Electronics, will take place from Sunday June 21st, 2015 to Thursday June 25th, 2015 at the Munich International Congress Centre [ICM], Germany. It will be held in conjunction with Laser World of Photonics 2015, the largest European Exhibition of laser and electro-optic equipment and services.
