The summer 2019 EPS Emmy Noether Distinction is awarded to Sarah Köster from the Institute for X-Ray Physics, Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany.
The ATOMINSTITUT (Institute of Atomic and Subatomic Physics of TU Wien, Vienna, Austria) was designated an EPS Historic Site in 2019 honoring the achievement of Helmut Rauch.
A number of vacancies will arise on the European Physical Society (EPS) Executive Committee in 2020, including the position of President-elect. According to the EPS bylaws, a Selection Committee has been created to establish a list of candidates for the replacement of outgoing members, and for the President-elect.
The board of the Nuclear Physics Division (NPD) of the European Physical Society (EPS) calls for nominations for the 2020 edition of the IBA prize for Applied Nuclear Science and Nuclear Methods and Nuclear Researches in Medicine. Every two-three years the NPD board awards the IBA prize, which is sponsored by the IBA company (https://iba-worldwide.com/), to one or more individuals who provided outstanding contributions to applied nuclear physics and/or nuclear medicine.
