EPS Executive Committee and Staff activities March 2017
3 March 2017: Christophe Rossel, EPS president, David Lee, EPS secretary general and Frédéric Burr, EPL staff editor, participated in the Meeting of the EPLA Board of Directors at CERN, Geneva (CH).
17 March 2017: Interview of the 3 finalists for the post for EPL Editor-in-Chief (EIC) and selection of the new EIC appointed for a term of 3.5 years, starting in 2017. Christophe Rossel, David Lee and Frédéric Burr attended the interviews.
19-20 March 2017: Christophe Rossel participated in the 3rd meeting of the Open Science Policy Platform (OSPP) in Berlin (D).
20-22 March 2017: David Lee, EPS Secretary general participated in the CREATION Consortium meeting in Birmingham, UK.
21-22 March 2017: Christophe Rossel took part in the 4th Open Science Conference organized in Berlin by the Leibniz Association and Science 2.0 Leibniz Research Alliance (http://www.open-science-conference.eu/)
24 March 2017: David Lee, EPS Secretary General participated in the General Assembly of the Initiative for Science in Europe in Cologne, DE
29 March 2017: Christophe Rossel participated in the Historic Site Ceremony of the Building Les Bastions of the University of Geneva (CH). Also present from EPS were Luisa Cifarelli and Rüdiger Voss.
30 March 2017: The EPS Executive Committee met in Erlangen (DE).
31 March – 1 April 2017: EPS Council 2017, at the Max Planck Institute Erlangen (DE).
Ophélia Fornari, Gina Gunaratnam and Patricia Helfenstein, from the EPS secretariat, attended the EPS Council Meeting at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen, Germany.
Luc Bergé, member of the EPS Executive Committee, attended the EPS Council in Erlangen, where he proposed a new strategy for the EPS Associate Membership policy. This strategy has been approved by the Council. Previously, he chaired the Jury of the Travel Grant Student Awards for the conference CLEO/Europe-EQEC 2017. 170 application files were received and 10 grants were attributed.
