German Physics festival to celebrate IYL 2015 in Jena
“Lichtspiele” (light games) is this year’s motto for the science festival organised by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research [BMBF], the German Physics Society [DPG], and the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Germany.
The event will take place from 22 to 26 September 2015 on the Eichplatz in the heart of Jena. Organisers have prepared workshops, a competition and experiments for children, as well as exhibitions and conferences.
Prestigious guests are invited to the festival: the Nobel Prize winner Stefan Hell will give a talk and the TV presenter Ranga Yogeshwar will moderate the “Highlight show”. Researchers from all over Germany will present lasers, particle physics or photonics technologies to an audience of children and adults. Light will be the star of the week.
