Call for C16 Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics

Nominations are now open for the 2012 C16 Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics [IUPAP]. The prize will be given in recognition of exceptional achievement in the study of plasma physics by a scientist in the early stage of their career.

The award, consisting of a certificate, medal and 1,000 euros in prize money, will be presented during the opening session of the EPS/ICPP conference, which is being held in Stockholm on 2-6 July this year.

Nominees should have a maximum of eight years of research experience, excluding career interruptions, following their PhD.

Completed nominations will contain the candidate’s CV; publication citation statistics; the details of three notable publications co-authored by the nominee; two letters of support from senior scientists, one of whom has not been the nominee’s supervisor; a 30-word award citation; and a one-page statement, by the nominee, explaining the overall significance of their work. Nominations should be sent to the C16 chair, Bob Bingham bob [dot] bingham [at] stfc [dot] ac [dot] uk by 20 April.
